| Notes |
- Allan lived at Lot 27, Concession 2 of Dereham Township in Oxford County until his family moved to N 1/2 Lot 2, Concession 2 in North Dorchester Township of Middlesex County in 1884.
Allan was a blacksmith in his early years, then a farmer. In 1909, he purchased 150 acres at E 1/2 and NW Lot 21, Concession 1 of North Dorchester Township. This land was sold in 1915.
He did not marry until he was 47. Allan and Mary lived on a farm just west of the village of Dorchester on Hamilton Road until the 1940s. It had a stone house, near where the golf course now is. (The house is no longer there.) He also lived in Westminster Township and London.
He was a member of Dorchester Methodist/United Church.
