Letter from John Kempthorne to his brother Richard Kempthorne October 15, 1867 Deer Brother and Sister I now take the pleasure of answering your kind letter, hoping it will find you all well as it leaves all of us at present. Thank God for it, which I should have answered it before, but we have been very busy in changing houses. Our Master is to Barke Liver and we are up to Curfuria. Loving Deer Brother and Sister we are very glad to hear that you got over all safe after a long passage. But we are very sorry to hear that you have had so much sickness. But we are very glad to hear that you are getting on so well. I am sure if you had bide [stayed] ye in England for 10 years you could not have done same?s [same as] you have done there in this time for things are just the same here as it was when you left. Fanny was very ill for a month in hay season. We did not think she would of been living by this time. I was in a Pray Place I can assure you dear Brother and Sister we have made up our minds to come to America. If you would pay our passage out I would pay you again so soon as I could, which do not put yourself out of the way about it dear Br & S. If we do come could you pay the money out there or would you send it from there. We shall leave it all to you for you know best about it. You know what our things are and you will know what it will cost we (us) to come out there. You know what things we do want better than we do. We do not want too little nor do we want too much, so we shall leave it all to you. Please to write again soon as you can and we know what things we shall want and what our passage will cost from Falmouth. Dear Brother you will be gone so fat that we shall not know you. Your meat is so cheap and prtickler [particular], when you have a cow you will have your fingers in the cream dish very often I reckon. | ||
